Sheep have arrived in even geater numbers for their fourth year at Sheepcote. This is part of the Brighton wide scheme to use sheep or other grazing animals to help maintain the downland. The sheep are enclosed by a temporary electric fence, and will be moved to various parts of the eastern and northern slopes around the Valley. There are about 200 munching away and we hope they will not lose their appetite before they get the grass back to being a “wild plant friendly” condition, before they are moved up the Valley.
