Butterfly and BBQ
This Year, 2008, the weather has not been ideal for butterflies. You may have heard, on the radio and TV that some species have either not appeared, or have only appeared for a short period. Indeed this was our experience. A month or two before our event, we had been quite hopeful of having a bumper show. But then the rain showers came and a few high winds.
We suspect that many perished. However, we had an enjoyable warm, dry day, and Paul a new ranger managed to catch a few on camera. The BBQ was a great success, and we have fingers crossed for next year’s event.
